Special Focus on Women, Pregnancy, and Addiction

This year, the CCSAD program highlights the topics of women, pregnancy and addiction. Join OB/GYN, Family Practice and Internal Medicine physicians as well as Addiction Medicine specialists to network and learn more about how addiction and recovery affects the pregnant patient. Key issues regarding the management of  substance abuse and dependency during pregnancy will be presented.

Conference Highlights:

  • medico-legal issues in pregnancy;
  • benzodiazepine use among women;
  • reproduction and contraception among women with addiction;
  • opiate maintenance therapy in a pregnant population with methadone and subutex;
  • the development of a family model for management of opiate dependence in pregnant women
  • management of addiction in the pregnant patient

Speakers include Dr. Gary Helmbrecht, Dr,. Martha Wunsch, Dr. Mishka Terplan, Dr. John Brooklyn, and Dr. Mark Publicker.

HOD Late File Deadline

If you miss the on-time deadline, but are still interested in filing a resolution. The Committee on Late and Deferred Resolutions must review late-filed resolutions for urgency. The House then considers the recommendations of the Committee on Late and Deferred Resolutions, and must approve each late filing by a two-thirds vote before it can be considered business of the House.
