Caring for the Caregivers VII

October 2, 2009

Research has documented that physicians’ personal health habits correspond with the quality of preventive care they offer patients. This conference will address strategies for improving the health and well-being of physicians, medical students, residents, and fellows. This program will help identify problem areas physicians may face and ways they can improve situations and in turn teach or advise patients more effectively through their own lifestyle practices.

The conference will consist of didactic, plenary sessions coupled with interactive, breakout sessions. Plenary sessions will address workplace conflict issues, the neurobiology of wellness, medical therapies, guides to exercise, and paying attention to colleagues. Each breakout session is designed to create an environment for discussion on the topics of nutrition, tai-chi, and best practices for treating physicians. The value of this program comes from input from attendees who are stimulated to formulate (or implement) new strategies for their personal and professional well-being.
