12th Annual Association of Physician Assistants in Oncology Conference

The Association of Physician Assistants in Oncology (APAO) featuring Clinical Highlights of the 2009 ASCO® Annual Meeting with the 12th Annual APAO Conference and Oncology 101 Workshop.

Clinical Highlights of the 2009 ASCO® Annual Meeting will highlight cutting edge, clinically relevant breakthroughs that were presented at the 2009 ASCO Annual Meeting.  This session is ideal for anyone who may miss ASCO’s 2009 Annual Meeting and is open to all healthcare practitioners.

12th Annual APAO Conference will present comprehensive clinical and surgical approaches in oncology to enhance oncology expertise and improve patient outcomes.

The Oncology 101 Workshop will teach the latest strategies in oncology patient care from seasoned veterans in the field.  The workshop is ideal for healthcare providers new to the oncology field, working in primary care and students interested in working in oncology.  Content will be geared to mid-level practitioners.

PHYSICIANS

Application for CME credit has been filed with the American Academy of Family Physicians. Determination of credit is pending.

PHYSICIAN ASSISTANTS

This program has been reviewed by the Physician Assistant Review Panel and is approved for a maximum of 18 hours of AAPA Category 1 CME credit for the 12th Annual APAO Conference, 8 hours of AAPA Category 1 CME credit for the ASCO Pre-Conference; and 6.75 hours of AAPA Category 1 CME credit for Oncology 101.  Physician assistants should claim only those hours actually spent participating in the CME activity.

This program was planned in accordance with AAPA’s CME Standards for Live Programs and for Commercial Support of Live Programs.

NURSES

This program has been approved for 23.0 contact hours for the 12th Annual APAO Conference General Session; 11.0 contact hours for Clinical Highlights of the 2009 ASCO Annual Meeting; and 8.0 contact hours for the Oncology 101 Workshop to be provided by the Florida Board of Nursing Provider #50-7071.  Each nurse should claim only those hours that he/she actually attends and educational activity.
